The San Angel earrings are all about the traditional shapes of Mexican jewellery. Today, part of the style we imagine when we think about Mexican jewels was developed in the beginning of the XX century. During this period of our history, artists such as Frida Kahlo, William Spratling and Ignacio Gómez joined the pre-Columbian culture with a modernism trend bringing a new tone to the arts and crafts of that time.

These earrings are inspired by a shape usually created to set semi-precious stones like amethyst and turquoise, but our earrings are made entirely in sterling silver to provide a minimalistic sense. San Angel earrings are just a tiny glimpse into the most traditional Mexican style.

Los aretes San Ángel se centran en las formas tradicionales de la joyería mexicana. Hoy, parte del estilo que imaginamos cuando pensamos en joyas mexicanas fue desarrollado en el principio del siglo XX. Durante este periodo de nuestra historia, artistas como Frida Kahlo, William Spratling e Ignacio Gómez se unieron a la cultura precolombina con una tendencia modernista que aportaba un nuevo tomo a las artes y artesanías de ese tiempo.

Estos aretes están inspirados en la forma que usualmente se crean al montar piedras semipreciosas como amatistas y turquesas, pero nuestros aretes están hechos completamente en plata 950 para aportar un sentido minimalista. Los aretes San Ángel son una pequeña parte del estilo mexicano más tradicional.
